My eating was better today. I didn't follow that meal plan exactly, but it was still good.
Had a Nutrigrain bar in the morning before class and a cup of coffee in the morning. Had a hotdog and green beans for lunch. Then for dinner I had salmon, seasoned with lemon juice and pepper, and some rice.
I went grocery shopping today for healthy foods. Holy fuck. It was more expensive than I thought! I got green beans, carrots, honey crisp apples, fat free carmel dip for the apples, bananas, fresh sliced lunch meat, reduced fat cheese, turkey bacon, some strawberry probiotic smoothie stuff, fat-free coffee cream, fat-free cottage cheese, sugar-free Jell-O cups, whole grain bread, and greek yogurt.
I will now be accepting donations for my healthy-eating grocery fund. If you would like to donate let me know, ok? Haha. :)
A good trick for saving some cash on produce type items is to buy frozen in bulk. When I started out I spent something absurd like almost 50 bucks on produce one week, the next week I got nearly twice as much for the same price by purchasing huge bags of frozen fruits and veggies at sams club. Yeah you gotta thaw it out and shit like that but it's worth it in savings. (oh and never buy canned, it's loaded with sodium and the nutrients are leached out by the water). Also check out places like sav-a-lot and aldi on the other non produce stuff, I get generic sav-a-lot brand stuff for even cheaper than like spartan brand and except for a few items it tastes the same.
